Introduction

Global Secondhand ("the Service") lets you search and compare items across 30+ secondhand marketplaces in 25+ countries. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is handled.

Data Collection

Information We Collect

• Search Queries: Temporarily processed to fetch marketplace results. Not stored permanently.
• Favorite Listings: URLs and metadata of items you save, stored on the server.
• Price-Compare & Shipping Data: Category and country selections are processed in real time and not logged.
• Usage Analytics: We use Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data such as page views, session duration, and general geographic region. See the Analytics & Advertising section below for details.

Information We Do NOT Collect

• No device identifiers or advertising IDs (beyond anonymized analytics)
• No precise location data beyond what you explicitly search for
• No passwords or sensitive credentials

Analytics & Advertising

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics (measurement ID G-029747CZ5R) to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics collects information such as which pages you visit, how long you stay, your browser type, and approximate geographic location. This data is aggregated and anonymized. Google AdSense

We display advertisements through Google AdSense. AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at google.com/settings/ads.

Cookies

The Service itself does not set first-party cookies. However, the third-party services above (Google Analytics, Google AdSense) may set cookies in your browser to function. You can manage or block cookies through your browser settings.

Data Storage

Application data (favorites, cached search results) is stored on the server at www.globalsecondhand.com. Search results are cached temporarily (up to 3 minutes) for performance and then discarded.

Data Retention: Favorite listings persist until you delete them. Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention policies.

Marketplace Websites

Global Secondhand fetches publicly available listing data from marketplace websites including:

• Finn.no (Norway) • DBA (Denmark) • Tori (Finland)
• Marktplaats (Netherlands) • Leboncoin (France) • Subito (Italy)
• eBay Kleinanzeigen (Germany) • Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace (USA)
• OLX, Avito, Bazos, and 15+ other international marketplaces

Each marketplace has its own privacy policy. When you click through to view a listing, you are subject to that marketplace's terms and data practices.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Aggregated, anonymized analytics data may be shared with Google through the services described above.

Security

• HTTPS/TLS encryption for all communication
• Security headers (CSP, X-Frame-Options, HSTS) on all responses
• No passwords or sensitive credentials stored

No internet transmission is 100% secure. Use the Service at your own discretion.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access: View all data associated with your usage
• Delete: Remove favorite listings at any time
• Opt-out: Block analytics cookies via browser settings or a browser extension
• Ad preferences: Manage personalised ad settings at Google's ad settings page

Children's Privacy

Global Secondhand is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us immediately.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy occasionally. Changes will be posted with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance.
