Germany loves second-hand — and has great platforms for it
Germany has a strong reuse culture and some of Europe's best used-goods marketplaces. Whether you're after furniture, electronics or a bike, here's where locals actually buy and sell.
The top German marketplaces
- Kleinanzeigen (formerly eBay Kleinanzeigen) — the German classifieds site. Enormous for furniture, electronics, bikes and household goods, mostly local pickup (Abholung).
- Vinted — dominant for clothing and fashion, with buyer protection and shipping built in.
- eBay.de — auctions and Buy-It-Now; strong for electronics, parts and collectibles.
- Momox / reBuy — instant-buyback sites for books, media, phones and tech (fast, fixed prices).
German-specific tips
- Abholung vs Versand: many Kleinanzeigen listings are local-pickup only. Filter for Versand möglich if you need shipping.
- Pay safely: for shipped items use PayPal Waren & Dienstleistungen (goods & services) — never "Freunde/Familie", which has no buyer protection. See avoiding scams.
- Festpreis vs VB: "VB" (Verhandlungsbasis) means the price is negotiable — make a polite offer (see negotiation tips).
- Meet safely for local deals and inspect before paying.
Search Germany + beyond at once: our search queries Kleinanzeigen and other German sources together with pan-European marketplaces, so you can compare a local Munich pickup against a shipped deal from elsewhere. See
shipping & customs if you buy from abroad.
